PORTUGUESE SCHOOL OF MEDICAL PHYSICS COURSE
MACHINE LEARNING, BIG DATA AND AUTOMATION IN RADIOTHERAPY
November, 8-9 2019
FEUC, Coimbra
“Machine learning, big data and automation in Radiotherapy” is a two days course included in the Portuguese School of Medical Physics. It is organized within the research project financed by FCT – “RT- Computational Approaches for Radiotherapy Planning of Excellence” (POCI-01-0145-FEDER-028030) in a partnership between FEUC/INESCC and IPOCFG. This course has been accredited by EBAMP as CPD event for Medical Physicists at EQF Level 7 and awarded 17 CPD credit points.
The course is aimed at addressing the growing interest of medical physicists in understanding the basis, methods, approaches and concepts of artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning and big data fundamentals and applications to radiotherapy.
The present and future challenges of radiation therapy imply clinical process changes where technology, standardization and automation are already guiding better solutions for the patients. Evidence-based decision support extracted from retrospective and multi-level experience will provide improved care.
The knowledge and vision of well-known international experts will help the participants to better understand the present status of these developments and the new horizons that are opened to radiotherapy.
